Androidify yourself

Hey guys, lately i've been trying to find some apps to keep me entertained on the bus/subway. I have compiled a list of 2 great time waster apps that keep me entertained on that long flight or keep my mind off that disgusting smell in the bus seat behind me, so, here they are...

1. Androidify

Don't you just wish you were good enough at photo editing to be able to make a android version of yourself for your facebook or twitter account well, now you don't have to be! Androidify is a fantastic android app made by google which lets you customize the green robot. Basically, you start off with the classic android logo then you can resize body parts and add clothes/hair/accesories using the idiot proof interface. The amount of time i've spent on this pointless app is depressing. This app is available on the market or on your nearest file-sharing site.

2. Atomic bomber

Atomic bomber is possibly my favourite android game ever. It is a never ending game where you are an atomic bomber (hence the name) bombing a whole lot of army bases (each base is a new wave). You control the plane by tapping which direction you want it to go in and you drop a bomb by pressing a button in the left corner. Be prepared for hours of bombing fun.

Android market alternative

The one thing most of you will have encountered during your experiences with android is how bad, laggy and sometimes not even working the preloaded market is. That is why I have put together a list of market alternatives for people who just can't stand it.

1. Slideme

Slide me is a well set out, simplistic market that runs way faster then the original. It doesn't have as many Apps but it's a decent alternative. A great feature of slideme is the compatability button which lets you know if your device can handle the chosen app. It is free and you can download it off www.slideme.org

2.Amazon market

The Amazon market is a great alternative and probably has the most apps out of all the 3rd party markets. Another good thing about it is Amazon, in a desperate attempt to get people to use it, are giving out a free, usually paid, app a day. The only problem with it is you have to have an Amazon.com account which takes a while to set up.

3. Google

Possibly the best way (in my opinion) to get apps is to use a service like androidzoom.com to browse the whole android market from your PC, get the name of an app you think looks cool a.k.a waveblazer. Then, search up on Google the name of the app followed by 'free download' and it will come up with many download links to directly download the .apk.

Obviously from this article there are many different ways to get Apps and games from different sources but if you are ever buying apps I would reccommend buying them off the android store to prevent the risk of your credit card details being stolen and also to support the developers.
